What is a 1200 calorie diet? It’s simply a diet that you consume 1200 or so calories on a daily basis.

Why is the diet becoming so popular? Because there are obviously a lot of people in this world that are struggling with their weight or want to get rid of excess fat. They don’t want to go through some insane surgery that won’t work, they want to do it naturally and safe, and they want their plan to be effective and permanent.

1,200 calories is known as the bare minimum amount of calories that a women can consume on a regular basis and still be healthy. This number is not set in stone and is based mainly on the amount of lean body mass that you have and the amount of activity that you do that will determine that number.

Creating A Calorie Deficit

If you want to lose weight or get rid of fat you have to create a calorie deficit. In order to do that you have to cut back the calories that you consume and/or burn more calories. If use this diet you are at your bare minimum daily calorie bottom and can now easily create that needed deficit to lose weight.

What types of foods should you eat? Usually you hear that only the calorie matter, but when you’re only getting 1200 of them a day and you’re trying to burn fat where the calories come from do matter a lot.

1200 Calorie Diet Meal Plan

You have to eat at least 80 grams of carbs. This is so that you’re body has the minimum amount of carbohydrates that it needs to function properly.

You should eat at least your body weight (in pounds) in grams of protein everyday. For instance, if you weigh 132 pounds you should eat at least 132 grams of protein at a minimum a day.

Your lean protein should come from organic sources and can include items like: milk, chicken breast, turkey breast, goats cheese, beans, brown rice, lean beef & lamb.

Your diet should be high fibrous veggies & fruits. You can really load up here. Veggies and fruits nutrient rich, but low calorie. You should never go hungry eating a lot of these types of foods to fill the gaps. These foods will also help you to cleanse your colon so that you lose even more weight and helps you body to absorb more nutrience from every bite.

How To Get The Most Out Of The Diet

Be consistent. This is the most important thing that you can do. This won’t help you if you only do it for one day.

Intense workouts. Doing intense workouts that build lean muscle are critical to making this really work and getting the best results and losing the most weight and burning the most fat. Aim to burn 300+ calories in a workout.

Weight Loss can be achieved easily through exercise. You should also consider a healthy and balance diet that is free from saturated fat. Avoid sugary foods too.

The most effective way for Losing Weight is exercise. You just do some cardio workout everyday like jogging and running for miles. That would effectively burn the fats in your body.

Cardio will definitely help you to burn more calories which in turn will help you to create a calorie deficit and lose weight, but it’s also important to develop lean body mass so that you increase your metabolism and natural calorie burning or fat burning machine.

@Pretty girls: Yes, very true. Diet is critical to helping you to lose weight and to be healthy. I do the best that I can to enjoy sugary foods, but that’s on occasion, not daily. Makes them all the more “sweeter” no pun intended. ;)
